Hyderabad Traffic Police Joint Commissioner AV Ranganath has announced that the traffic police department is going to provide discounts to the citizens of the state on pending challans. AV Ranganath said that approximately 1.75 lakh traffic challans worth 600 crores are pending in Hyderabad that can be paid through the e-challan online portal at discounted rates.

He also said that these 1.75 lakh challans are pending for the last 7-8 years, so this is a one-time opportunity for traffic violators to clear their ts traffic challan online on heavy discounts. The offer will be available for 30 days starting from 1st March to 31st March 2022.

Apart from the traffic challans, the No Mask Challas will be also recovered under the discount offer.

People who have pending No Mask Challas can clear their dues by just paying 10% of the challan amount.

According to Joint Commissioner AV Ranganath, a higher portion of the challans is related to riding two-wheelers without helmets and overspeeding.

For this, the department is offering a 75% discount on two-wheelers challans which means, if a bike has been fined 1000 Rs for any traffic violation then the violator needs to pay just 250 Rs to clear the challan.

Hyderabad Traffic Department took this decision to bring funds to the department. An online portal has been established for the motorist through which they can pay the challans at discounted prices.
